Summary

The primary function of this position is to profitably grow the business for all BGS product segments and market share through the distribution dealer network by developing and implementing business market plans to achieve BGS business unit goals.   The position will be working closely with dealers within the dealer/distribution network to cultivate individual business plans for each dealer.  

 

The District Market & Business Development Manager will lead the overall strategy development and implementation of the dealer network assuring sufficient representation in all market areas (geographic and product segment) to achieve BGS objectives.  Additionally, this position must develop business relationships with national and multinational customers leveraging the dealer network in the relationship when practical and managing the relationship and sales/support directly when required.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor and report region business plan to achieve market share and profit objectives.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report business plans for individual dealers to achieve mutual market share and revenue objectives.
  • Develop, track, analyze, and report actionable business plans for each BGS product segment.
  • Determine dealer representation required to achieve BGS market share and profit objectives; select dealers, develop each dealer to become full line BGS dealers achieving brand, product, sales and aftersales performance required to achieve BGS objectives.
  • Select, manage and participate in appropriate trade shows, conferences, industry organizations and activities which maximize brand exposure to target prospects.
  • Assist in development, preparation and conducting product sales and other training meetings; plan new product introductions and related activities as required.
  • Assist dealers as required in selecting products which best fit prospective customer needs.
  • Train and develop dealers in using BGS quoting and pricing tools; train and insure dealer use of all BGS online tools, training systems and marketing programs.
  • Inform Brock Marketing of competitive products, promotional material, sales techniques, competitive pricing, competitive marketing policies and marketing programs.
  • Track and analyze dealer sales performance and marketing actions in their area of primary responsibility; Develop and implement supportive and corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in collections of dealer/account payables to CTB Finance as required, utilizing knowledge and experience with individual dealers/accounts to ensure optimal collection strategies, actions and results.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • BS degree in business, technical, agriculture major or equivalent 
  • Experience with Proven Results:
    • 3+ years of progressive experience in marketing & business development functions.
    • Ability to successfully develop, implement and analyze complex market, financial and business metrics and plans, including the following:
  • Creation and execution of metric driven market and dealer business plans.
  • Determine customer and market requirements for future products.
  • Assessing competitive market programs and product sales performance.
  • Assessing dealer potential and performance resulting in development of action plans achieving BGS objectives.
  • Assessing pricing positions and capable of recommending pricing actions to BGS leadership.
  • Assessing aftersales actions to maximize customer satisfaction while implementing BGS warranty, policy and other programs.
  • Assessing and making appropriate recommendations in brand/advertising promotion actions including COOP Advertising and other promotion activities.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Capable to travel 25% to 40% of the work days
    • Including overnight stays of up to ten (10) consecutive nights.
    • Must possess and maintain valid non-commercial license.

  • Computer Skills:
