What You’ll Do:

 

As the Engineering Manager of New Product Development, you will develop, implement, and lead new product lines which align to the organizational goals and market needs.

Specific Responsibilities

Your Accountabilities In The Role: 

  • You will layout a Product Roadmap through research, development and implementation, focused on priority, value, and profitability aligned to the organizational goals, budget, and market needs
  • You will develop and execute plans for new product development that meet the budget, timeline, and manufacturing capabilities
  • You will recruit, hire, train, develop and lead project team members and subcontractors to ensure product success, with first pass yield
  • You will create, develop and drive continuous improvement programs and processes which will improve our products, our performance, and our cost – while continuously providing innovative solutions to our customers
  • You will use a stage gate process to ensure the right people are involved in the product development process while working cross-functionally with various groups of the organization to ensure high quality, innovative product solutions
  • You will oversee components of the purchasing department to ensure optimal budget success

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Requires a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar in education and experience is preferred
  • 7 - 10 years’ “hands on” experience of direct project team management and leadership, with product development in an agricultural environment setting (or similar) preferred. Will consider strong mechanical background in motor cycle mechanics, manufacturing, building/construction, etc.
  • Strong financial aptitude with ability to plan, execute and manage short and long-term projects efficiently and effectively
  • Intermediate PC skills, strong mechanical aptitude with ability to utilize a “hands on” approach to find and understand the root cause and ensure a holistic process

Other Important Information:     

 

Position Status & Salary:  Salaried Position; with salary being commensurate with proven expertise. 

 

The position is bonus eligible.    And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

 

Reports To: Vice President & General Manager                         

 

Core Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (with some flexibility; 45-50 hour work weeks)

 

Travel:   Approximately up to 20 % (Global Travel)
