Specific Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:


As the Service Crew Supervisor, you will plan, manage, schedule, and provide guidance to the Service Crew Technicians to meet the needs of the customers and business, along with also providing information and services to the customers.


You’re Accountabilities in the Role:


  • You will plan, manage, schedule, and provide guidance to the Service Crew Technicians to meet he needs of the customers and business.    
  • You will travel to customers independently, or with team members, to assist as required with transportation, set up, or training for various products.
  • You will validate and test new products, providing information, training, and feedback to team members, as well as offer suggestions for product enhancements to management.
  • You will ensure all company vehicles are DOT compliant and ensure team members maintain their Class-A CDL.
  • You will be the first contact for all technical calls from customers – resolving issues when possible over the phone.


Position Requirements:


  • Education/Knowledge: Associates degree in mechanical or technical fields preferred; or equivalent of education and experience, with a solid technical background and communication skills.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role. Requires hands on fundamental application of technical skills as described in role, preferably in the Ag business or related. Strong mechanical background; trouble-shooting hydraulic and electrical interfaces would also be preferred. Requires a Class-A CDL. 
  • Functional Skills: Solid planning, organizing, scheduling based on priorities. Ability to lead, train, and mentor.  Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  Ability to walk customers through technical issues both in person or over the phone.
  • Technological Aptitude/Other: Basic PC skills and Excel, along with written reporting.
  • Behaviors: High customer-oriented focus, with solid communciation skills to articulate situations and solutions effectively, and provide feedback to the company.
  • Culture Match: Conceptual thinker that can take a vision and create better processes/solutions. Enjoys collaboration and leading/participating in continuous improvement processes.

Other Important Information:     


Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 


This position is eligble for some bonus programs as noted!   And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!


Reports To:       Plant Manager


Hours/Typical Work Week:   7:00 – 3:30 pm are the core office hours with additional hours as needed.   

August through October experiences heavier business volume, and this role requires someone that is able to be on a rotating call cycle with the Service Crew (as needed).  Average hours are typically around 60-70 hours per week during the heavier volume months.  Off season, typical work week on average is 50 hours per week.


Direct Reports:    3 Technicians


Travel:   During heavier volume months, travel time is 2-3 days per week; every week for 12 weeks during the busy season; during off season, travel would be limited overnight and would be approximately 1 week a month for off season months.  Areas traveled are in Central Midwest - IA, NE, KS, MO, SD, etc.
