What You’ll Do:

 

As the Shared Services Manager, you will lead and manage the Shared Services area to ensure best practice and compliance which align to the organizational goals and budget.

Specific Responsibilities

  • You will lead and oversee the accounts payable and payroll functions that involve high volume processing, ensuring integrity, accuracy, filing deadlines, and compliance areas are met within the processes and systems used (including SOX controls & segregation of duties).
  • You will perform on-going analysis of the Shared Services area to find ways to make the area more efficient/effective and lead in the setup and streamlining of related areas locally and within other locations.
  • You will provide “hands on” support to the area as needed to ensure confidential and high priority items are met.
  • You will audit and reconcile data and documentation, along with filing pertinent required filings for the Shared Services area to ensure accuracy and compliance guidelines are met, while maintaining appropriate supporting data as required.
  • You will prepare and coordinate the interfacing of information, data, and reporting to other areas of the business to ensure smooth and complete processes.
  • You will provide leadership, guidance, training, and development to ensure on-going accurate and compliant processes, while ensuring appropriate backups within all functions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, HR or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive leadership, management, and “hands-on” experience in Payroll and Accounting preferred. Must have 3+ years of processing large payrolls, related taxes, garnishments, and child support withholdings.
  • Certification(s): CPP for Payroll preferred
  • Functional Skills: Experienced with multi-state payroll guidelines, laws, payroll processing and tax filings required; strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and compliance guidelines; familiar with SOX compliance, DOL as it relates to wages, and other related laws and regulations.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Experienced with automated payroll systems and applications, with the ability to learn proprietary software required; Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to read/write/speak English fluently
  • Leadership/Behaviors: “Hands-On” Leader who is collaborative, supportive, detail-oriented and organized; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks meeting quality factors and deadlines; ability to research, lead, and mentor team members towards “best practice” effectiveness and efficiency; ability to review large amounts of data and analyze trends to create enhancements for the areas; able to effectively handle broad and diverse problems as they arise; compliance oriented, discrete with confidential information, and self-directed

Other Important Information:     

 

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 

 

This position is eligble for bonus & profit sharing!  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

 

Reports To:     VP & Corporate Controller                                                                                                             

 

Core Hours:   8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)

 

Typical Work Week:  M-F; some weekends [& OT] required (when applicable); 45 hours a week on average

 

Direct Reports:     3-4 direct reports

 

Travel:   Approximately 10%
