Specific Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

 

As the Midwest Bearing Sales Person, you will support the retail sales store through handling customer inquiries, product issues, and sales ordering fulfillment.

 

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • You will handle walk-in, email, and telephone inquiries, issues, and orders from customers regarding replacement machine/equipment parts to meet the customer’s expectations.
  • You will place orders for items out of stock for fast delivery or pickup.
  • You will prepare and process sales contracts/slips and payment ensuring accuracy with the purchase.
  • You will determine the type of replacement parts required based on customer requests/description of malfunctions, inspecting old parts/pieces brought into the store, etc.
  • You will serve as a backup for the Warehouse/Inventory position as needed to label, put-a-way, and ship parts as needed to meet

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma, or the equivalent, is preferred for this role.
  • Experience: 7+ years of bearing type experience on the job or with special projects/hobbies required. Also seeking 2+ years of retail experience preferably in a bearings environment
  • Functional Skills: Excellent customer service, attention to detail, mathematical, and order processing skills. Also seeking strong agriculture-type manufacturing, farming, tractor, or other related expertise dealing with the troubleshooting and replacement of bearings.  Position requires someone extremely mechanically inclined to understand bearing issues and know the replacement part(s) required 
  • Technological Aptitude/Other: Strong PC skills required; JD Edwards ERP system experience would be a plus
  • Behaviors: Self-independent and driven are key behaviors needed. This is a small group, so the right person will need to be able to get their work done and be flexible to fill in for others as needed; also need a responsible and mature person to manage the day to day business needs effectively.
  • Culture Match: Must exhibit patience, integrity, professionalism, and will manage various diverse customers coming in, calling, etc. at the same time

Other Important Information:     

 

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 

 

This position is eligible for some bonus programs!   And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

 

Reports To:       Store Manager  

 

Core Hours:

  • Store hours:  8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Work Hours:   7:00 am (to Open) – 5:30 pm (close); shift fluctuates between these hours
  • Typical Days: M-F; occasionally packages come in on Saturday that need to be rushed. 
  • Overall Weekly Hours On Average:   40
