Specific Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:


As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, manage, coordinate, and perform optimization and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and build layouts/expansions to continually enhance and automate the areas.  You will also participate on a cross-function team to provide insight and execution for successful new product development


Your Accountabilities in the Role:


  • You will plan, manage, coordinate, and perform optimization of the manufacturing processes to continually enhance output of the areas while staying within the budget and timelines.  
  • You will develop work instructions for the cell groups, with the Project Leader, ensuring they are in line with the Quality System. You will train employees on new work instructions in a way that is easy to understand and follows the processes.
  • You will trouble-shoot, discern, and implement the best solution that will maximize output, while meeting budget and downtime constraints.
  • You will consistently review how the machines operate in a cell group and look for improvements in the process - suggesting those to the Project Manager.
  • You will partner with cross-functional teams and other team members to maximize continuous improvement projects and new product development processes.
  • You will continually work with vendors to ensure optimal resources at the best price as it relates to new parts, equipment, or outsourced work.


Position Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred. Would consider a Manufacturing Technology Certificate (Associate‘s) or a combination of coursework and experience. 
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of leading manufacturing projects in automated manufacturing and robotic cell groups.  Familiar with PLC programming, manufacturing cameras, manufacturing tooling, etc.  to trouble-shoot a program issue would be helpful.    
  • Functional Skills: Excellent planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills are required to work effectively in this role.  Also, good math and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively enhance the manufacturing areas.
  • Technical Aptitude/PC/Other: Intermediate Microsoft Office experience required. A working knowledge of ERP Systems and familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing is also preferred.
  • Language Skills: Excellent business writing and communication skills are required to plan, partner, and train with others both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Strong collaboration/influencing skills are needed to effectively partner with others, listen to ideas, and implement the best enhancements. Ability to be positive, conceptualize and move forward with projects that are viable and cost effective is also important in this role.  Excellent versatility is also key to lead and perform portions of the project (ie. like tooling, design, etc. dependent on background).

Other Important Information:     


Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 


This position is eligible for profit sharing!  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!


Reports To:     Program Manager                                                                                                                          


Core Hours:   7:00am – 4:30pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 9 hours within this timeframe)


Typical Work Week:  M-F; some weekends required (when applicable); 45 hours a week on average


Direct Reports:     None


Travel:   Approximately 10% (Typically between facilities)
