Specific Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

 

As the Production Planner, you will plan and manage the production schedule and inventory levels to meet production goals and customer order timelines.

 

 

Your Accountabilities In The Role: 

 

  • You will build and manage a production schedule that meets the sales schedule and inventory strategy.
  • You will monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available to meet production needs and customer orders, while ensuring inventory levels stay within parameters.
  • You will collaborate with Customer Service on production scheduling issues, where the order sales schedule may be impacted, to find proactive solutions.
  • You will work closely with Plant Superintendents and Team Leaders to facilitate the successful execution of the production plan.
  • You will support the Lean initiatives by participating in training and events to foster productivity and process improvements within the department or within cross-functional areas.

Requirements

Position Requirements: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years of production planning experience. APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) Certificate preferred, but not required
  • Functional Skills: Solid math, data analysis, and planning or organizing skills are required
  • Technology Skills: JDE or AS400 ERP system experience preferred; intermediate skills in Microsoft Word/Excel, and Showcase & Reports Writing (part of JD Edwards) knowledge would also be preferred
  • Other Behaviors: Excellent communication, ability to prioritize and multi-task, able to influence others, and exceptional customer support both internally and externally
  • Culture Match: Requires a person who is passionate about team collaboration and who can work in a fast-paced customer support role

 

Other Important Information:     

 

Position Status & Salary:  Salaried- Nonexempt position; Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 

 

This position is eligble for bonus & profit sharing!  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

 

Reports To:       Planning & Scheduling Manager  

 

Core Hours:   6 am – 5 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)

 

Typical Work Week:  M-F; some weekends & OT required (when applicable); 45 hours a week on average

 

Direct Reports:     None

 

Travel:   Approximately 10% or less
