    Specific Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do:

    As a Detailer, you will produce 3D/2D models, drawings, and other materials to ensure accurate fabrication of customer orders.

     

    Your Accountabilities in the Role:

     

    • You will produce structural 3D-shaped models for new orders based on customer requests using AutoDesk Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD.
    • You will submit the final approved drawings to the manager for final customer approval prior to fabrication.
    • You will convert the models into 2D detailed approval drawings, erection plans, shop part drawings, and bill of materials in a timely manner to ensure accurate fabrication and on-time delivery.
    • You will submit the material for review to QA & Engineering to ensure it meets the specifications and customer expectations.
    • You will coordinate projects and troubleshoot possible issues within various departments (Sales, Engineering, Fabricators/Welders) to ensure a smooth process.

    Requirements

    • Education: B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology, Drafting or similar field; or will consider an Associate’s Degree in similar field with some related experience.
    • Experience: 2+ years of 3D/2D AutoCAD and Inventor experience (or similar drafting programs) in a manufacturing environment preferred; will train the right person
    • Functional Skills: Solid understanding of creating 3D models and 2D drawings for fabrication and erection purposes (how the product will be assembled in the shop and in the field to ensure proper fit and ease of construction); detail-oriented, thorough, with the ability to complete projects on-time.
    • Technological Aptitude/Other: Knowledge and previous training in AutoCad, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault or similar 3D/2D programs; solid skillset in Microsoft Office products as well (Word/Excel)
    • Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills are also needed for this role.
    • Leaderhip/Behaviors: Self-starter, solid work ethic, critical thinker, with the ability to create structural drawings from customer expectations.
    • Culture Match: Collaborative, team-oriented individual, as the team works together to be successful.

    Other Important Information:     

     

    Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.  

     

    Reports To:       Engineering Manager

     

    Typical Work Week:  M-F; with some Saturdays and overtime required; typical hours are 8 – 5:00 pm (with some flexibility); Overtime is approximately 10-15 hours per week during peak season for 4-5 months.

     

    Work Conditions:  Office environment; air conditioned
