    Specific Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do:

     

    As the Injection Molding Set-Up Technician, you will support the injection molding department – ensuring molds are set-up according to the schedule and machines.  You will troubleshoot machine or mold issues and ensure they are corrected - notifying the mold technician as appropriate.    

     

    Your Accountabilities in the Role: 

    • You will set up a wide variety of molds in different types of injection mold machinery – varying from 88 to 650-ton machines.
    • You will troubleshoot any issues or problems with injection molding machines throughout your shift.
    • You will perform ongoing preventative maintenance – including greasing the molds and general cleanup each shift.
    • You will purge material from machines and shut them down at end of each cycle run – ensuring machines are prepped and ready for the next mold to be installed.
    • You will work closely with material handlers to operate grinders, mix raw materials, and install materials into the vacuum hoppers and material handling systems.

    Requirements

    Position Requirements: 

    • Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred; will consider a combination of education and experience
    • Experience: 2+ years of injection molding machine set-up experience; Previous experience with multiple operating systems helpful; Systematic molding training, Master-Molder training, or RJG training highly preferred
    • Functional Skills: Must have previous experience reading/interpreting blue prints; Ability to use calipers, a wide variety of hand tools, tape measures, and precision gauges; Basic math skills required
    • Technology Skills: Basic PC skills
    • Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with Team Leader, Material Handlers, and other team members; Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
    • Leadership/Behaviors: Problem-solving; Collaborative; Must be able to set priorities; Organized and detail-oriented; Quality-minded; Focused on safety
    • Culture Match: Candidates should be able to work within a team environment yet be comfortable working independently

    Other Important Information:     

     

    Position Wage: Wage is commensurate with proven skills and expertise!

     

    And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

     

    Reports To:  Plant Superintendent                                                                                                                                                

     

    Core Hours:  3:00pm – 11:00pm with OT as needed

     

    Typical Work Week:  M- F with some weekends as necessary. 

    Summer/Fall – 50 hours/week average

    Winter/Spring – 40 hours/week average

     

    Direct Reports:  None

     

    Travel:   Limited
