    Specific Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do:


    As the Draftsman, you will create 3D/2D models, drawings, and other materials to ensure accurate fabrication of customer orders.  


    Your Accountabilities in the Role:

    • You will create designs, layouts, prints, and drawings that accurately reflect the engineering vision or design to ensure accurate fabrication of new or redesigned products.
    • You will create drafting illustrations to assist with the technical writing area that will accurately demonstrate the assembly or product information needed for customer material.
    • You will create Bill of Materials for all new/enhanced products to ensure efficient assembly.
    • You will communicate, collaborate, and interface with Engineering and Technical Writing to assist in problem resolution/re-design solutions throughout the stage-gate process.
    • You will evaluate productivity tools, systems, and processes continually to create enhancements and increased efficiencies within the area.


    Position Requirements: 

    • Education: Associates Degree in Engineering, Technology, CAD Design, or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and course work will be considered
    • Experience: 3+ years of advanced 3D/2D AutoCAD drafting experience in a sheet metal manufacturing or similar manufacturing type environment, who has managed multiple projects, as well as mentored/trained others preferred.
    • Functional Skills: Proficient CAD Drafting skillset, detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to complete projects on time; can look at the big picture to get things done well; high level of prioritization, organization, and planning skills required; strong mechanical aptitude also needed.  Able to manage projects independently.
    • Technology Skills: Proficient skillset (advanced) in 3D/2D Inventor AutoCAD, Solid Works, Pro E, or other similar AutoCAD/Modeling Software experience; also proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel).
    • Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skillset to work with various levels within the organization.
    • Leadership/Behaviors: Can work independently and is creative and innovative for the design of new products;
    • Culture Match: Need conceptual thinkers who can take a vision and create better processes/solutions. Energetic, honest, and high ethical standards. Enjoys collaboration, being a team player, and leading/participating in continuous improvement processes. 


    Other Important Information:     


    Salary:  Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. 


    And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!


    Reports To:     Director or Engineering                                                                                                                                              


    Core Hours:  8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)


    Typical Work Week:  M-F; some weekends [& OT] required (when applicable); 40-45 hours a week on average
